Description
These BBQ ground beef sliders are a lightning-fast, crowd-pleasing party food that mimics smoky pulled pork flavor without the need for a smoker. Made with ground beef, thick BBQ sauce, and melted cheddar on soft Hawaiian rolls, they are ready in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup thick BBQ sauce
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 package (12 rolls) Hawaiian rolls
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Dice the onion, mince the garlic, and shred the cheese.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion, breaking the beef apart as it cooks.
- Brown the beef for 6-7 minutes until no longer pink and onions are soft. Drain excess grease if necessary, but leave some for flavor.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add garlic, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce; stir for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar. Simmer for 2 minutes until the mixture is saucy but not soupy.
- Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a block.
- Brush the top half of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls on the baking sheet. Pile the beef mixture generously onto each roll.
- Top each slider with shredded cheddar cheese and replace the top half of the rolls.
- Bake for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and roll tops are golden brown.
- Let cool for 2 minutes before serving immediately.
