Best BBQ Ground Beef Sliders: 15-Min Easy Party Food

  • Author: claire
  • Total Time: 15-20 minutes
  • Yield: 24 servings 1x

Description

These BBQ ground beef sliders are a lightning-fast, crowd-pleasing party food that mimics smoky pulled pork flavor without the need for a smoker. Made with ground beef, thick BBQ sauce, and melted cheddar on soft Hawaiian rolls, they are ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup thick BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 package (12 rolls) Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Dice the onion, mince the garlic, and shred the cheese.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion, breaking the beef apart as it cooks.
  4. Brown the beef for 6-7 minutes until no longer pink and onions are soft. Drain excess grease if necessary, but leave some for flavor.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add garlic, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce; stir for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour in BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar. Simmer for 2 minutes until the mixture is saucy but not soupy.
  7. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a block.
  8. Brush the top half of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  9. Place the bottom half of the rolls on the baking sheet. Pile the beef mixture generously onto each roll.
  10. Top each slider with shredded cheddar cheese and replace the top half of the rolls.
  11. Bake for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and roll tops are golden brown.
  12. Let cool for 2 minutes before serving immediately.

Notes

[‘Use thick, smoky BBQ sauce to prevent soggy sliders.’, ‘Shred your own cheese for better melting; pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents.’, ‘Leave a little beef fat in the pan for flavor, but do not leave a pool of grease.’, ‘Hawaiian rolls burn easily, so watch them closely in the oven.’, ‘The beef mixture can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.’]
