Creamy Copycat Pumpkin Spice Latte: Easy Kid-Friendly Fall Drink

  • Author: claire
  • Total Time: 8 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A rich, naturally sweetened pumpkin spice latte made with real pumpkin puree and fresh spices. This kid-friendly recipe is ready in under 10 minutes and offers a cozy café experience at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup (60g) 100% pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup (240ml) strong brewed coffee (or decaf/tea)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (whole, oat, or almond)
  • 12 tablespoons (15-30ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) heavy cream
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine pumpkin puree, milk, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract.
  2. Whisk the mixture over medium-low heat until hot and smooth, about 2-3 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  3. Brew the strong coffee separately.
  4. Pour the warm pumpkin milk mixture into a mug.
  5. Slowly pour the hot coffee over the pumpkin milk and stir gently to combine.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if desired.
  8. Top with whipped cream and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure you use 100% pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. Whisk vigorously to prevent clumping. For a vegan version, swap dairy milk for oat or almond milk and use coconut cream. The pumpkin milk base can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
