Crispy Honey Sriracha Pork Belly Bites

  • Author: claire
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick 20-minute weeknight dinner featuring crispy pork belly bites tossed in a sweet, spicy, and salty honey-sriracha glaze. This one-pan recipe uses pantry staples for minimal cleanup and maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) pork belly, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (or avocado oil)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork belly cubes completely dry with paper towels and cut into 1-inch uniform cubes.
  2. Place the pork in a bowl, sprinkle with cornstarch, and toss until lightly coated in a dusty layer.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger until the honey is dissolved.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  5. Add pork pieces in a single layer without overcrowding the pan (cook in batches if necessary).
  6. Sear pork undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook another 2-3 minutes until cooked through (internal temp 145°F).
  7. Pour the sauce over the crispy pork and toss immediately to coat.
  8. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce bubbles, thickens, and becomes glossy.
  9. Remove from heat and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
  10. Serve immediately over steamed jasmine rice.

Notes

Ensure pork is completely dry before coating in cornstarch to achieve maximum crispiness. Do not overcrowd the pan, as this causes steaming instead of frying. The sauce contains sugar and burns quickly, so stir constantly after adding it. Leftovers do not freeze well as the texture becomes mushy; store in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in a skillet.
