Description
A delicious, high-protein breakfast that tastes like a chocolate milkshake. This easy overnight oats recipe requires only 5 minutes of prep time the night before and provides sustained energy for busy mornings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 4 scoops Chocolate Protein Powder (approx. 120g total)
- 4 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 4 tsp Chia Seeds
- 8 tbsp Powdered Peanut Butter (e.g., PB2)
- 2 cups Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (2%)
- 4 tbsp Maple Syrup
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients: Into each of four 16oz glass jars, add 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp chia seeds, and 2 tbsp powdered peanut butter.
- Stir dry ingredients: Mix the dry ingredients in each jar with a spoon to distribute the protein powder evenly and prevent clumps.
- Add wet ingredients: Pour 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, and 1 tbsp maple syrup into each jar.
- Stir vigorously: Stir the mixture thoroughly until it looks like a thick, uniform chocolate batter. Ensure oats are fully submerged.
- Chill: Seal jars with lids and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours), to allow oats to soften.
- Serve: Stir well before eating. Add a splash of milk if too thick. Enjoy cold or microwave for 60 seconds for warm oats.
Notes
Use old-fashioned rolled oats for best texture; avoid quick oats (too mushy) or steel-cut oats (too hard). Powdered peanut butter is preferred for consistency and to avoid greasiness. If using regular peanut butter, reduce milk slightly. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze as texture will suffer.
