Description
A quick, no-cook breakfast recipe featuring old-fashioned oats, Greek yogurt, and protein powder, designed to be prepped the night before for a high-protein, satiating morning meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (40g) Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Milk of Choice (e.g., unsweetened almond, oat, or dairy)
- 1/4 cup (60g) Greek Yogurt (plain, non-fat or 2%)
- 1 scoop (25-30g) Protein Powder (Vanilla or Chocolate)
- 1 tablespoon (10g) Chia Seeds
- 1 tablespoon (15g) Pumpkin Seed Butter (or Peanut/Almond Butter)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) Maple Syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- A pinch of Salt
- Optional: 1/4 cup Frozen Berries, 1 tablespoon Mini Dark Chocolate Chips, 1/2 Banana Slices
Instructions
- Grab clean, dry mason jars (16-ounce recommended).
- Add 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats and 1 tablespoon chia seeds to each jar. Add frozen berries now if using.
- In a separate bowl or directly in the jar, mix protein powder with Greek yogurt to create a smooth paste and avoid clumps.
- Add milk, nut butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt to the yogurt mixture. Stir until combined.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients in the jar. Stir thoroughly to ensure no dry pockets remain.
- Seal jars with lids and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
- In the morning, stir well. Adjust consistency with a splash of milk if too thick. Top with fresh fruit or nuts if desired and eat cold.
Notes
Do not use instant oats as they turn to mush. Always mix protein powder with yogurt first to prevent clumping. These store well in the fridge for up to 5 days. Do not freeze as the texture will become slimy. If using steel-cut oats, soak for at least 12 hours.
